Another Saint Patrick’s Day Blog

March 18, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
As I started thinking about Saint Patrick’s Day a couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon Robert’s Corned Meats Co. in San Francisco. They are a family owned and operated business for over 100 years that specialize in corned beef and pastrami. They sell their cured meats to restaurants around the Bay Area including Tommy’s...

Aperto: A Great Solid Meal

November 27, 2011 by 510foodie No Comments
A few weeks ago I had dinner with my Food Companion (FC). I have been wanting to try Aperto, the sister restaurant to Bellanico. I previously wrote about Bellanico and I’m proud to call it my neighborhood restaurant. Aperto is also a neighborhood restaurant, but not mine. It’s located in Potrero Hill in San Francisco....

Kiss Seafood: A Hidden Gem

November 6, 2011 by 510foodie No Comments
I probably shouldn’t have started Weight Watchers a week and a half before my birthday. At the same time for someone like me that enjoys eating so much, there probably isn’t a right time. I made the decision to go ahead and start. What I like about Weight Watchers is that you don’t necessarily have...

Bi-Rite: More than Alright

October 30, 2011 by 510foodie No Comments
Located in the Mission District in San Francisco is a food market, a creamery and bakeshop, a catering company, operators of organic farms, and a community education center that make up the Bi-Rite family of businesses. Their mission is to create community through food. I’ve been visiting Bi-rite creamery for a while and especially love...

The Ferry Ride to the Ferry Building

July 10, 2011 by 510foodie No Comments
Rain or shine, it is always fun to take the ferry from Oakland to San Francisco. It was a perfect day on the 4th of July in the Bay Area. I had plans to take the ferry into the City with one of my long time friends to have lunch and celebrate her birthday. Parking...

Crossroads Cafe: Straightforward and Delicious

July 3, 2011 by 510foodie No Comments
I love going to Crossroads Cafe by the Waterfront in San Francisco. It’s part restaurant and part bookstore. It’s also part of the Delancey Street Foundation which helps former substance abusers, ex-convicts, and homeless people turn their lives around. All the employees of the cafe are part of the residential self-help organization that are learning...

Got Lop Cheong?

May 1, 2011 by 510foodie No Comments
For the first two years of my life, I lived on Powell Street in San Francisco Chinatown.  San Francisco Chinatown is the oldest and largest Chinatown in North America.  When my family moved to Oakland, we still spent a significant amount of time there.  We would go there at least once a week so my...

About Me

Hello, my name is Lisa Lau.  Welcome to my new website 510foodie.com.  I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I am passionate about food and am here to share my food adventures with you.

I’ve been blogging about food for almost ten years.  I am a contributing writer for localwise.com where my blog post Top Five Bowls of Noodle Soup in Oakland went viral.  In 2018, I was a guest writer for Berkeleyside where I wrote the featured article  A Filipino Food Movement is Sweeping the East Bay.

My friends and family enjoy my cooking so new to the site is “Recipe of the month.”

I hope you enjoy the site!
