The Las Vegas Buffet: Did I Get My Monies Worth?

September 23, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
I am not a big fan of buffets. Most buffets serve average food and buffet goers hope to eat more than their monies worth. In Las Vegas, buffets are pretty popular at every hotel. It seems there is always one that shines each decade. In the 1990’s, it was the Rio’s Carnival World Buffet and...

Go Fish: Vancouver

June 3, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
I got back from my trip to Vancouver and Seattle last week. My last visit to Vancouver was in 2005 for my cousin’s wedding, way before food blogging. Vancouver is well known for their fresh seafood. Back in 2005, my cousin took me to a place for fish and chips. As I was researching places...

Revel in Seattle

May 27, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
My last meal on this trip to the Pacific Northwest was brunch at a trendy place called Revel in Seattle. It’s about three miles away from Downtown in an area called Fremont. Revel serves Korean fusion food. My friend and I sat at the kitchen counter where food was also being plated. This gave us...

Southern Fried Chicken: Atlanta Style

April 8, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
My favorite meal in Atlanta was my first meal. An early and long flight meant I didn’t want to wander too far from my hotel to have dinner. I discovered Sway which is a restaurant inside the Hyatt Regency, which is where I was staying in Downtown Atlanta. I made my same day Open Table...

Tucson: The Sonoran Dog

April 1, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
Before I headed out to Tucson, Arizona, I researched things to eat. I stumbled upon something called a Sonoran Dog. The Sonoran dog was introduced in Sonora, Mexico. Wikipedia defines it as “a hot dog wrapped in mesquite-smoked bacon then cooked on a grill or on a griddle, then topped with freshly chopped tomatoes, onions,...

Cafe Reyes: Point Reyes Station

March 25, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
Point Reyes Station is a little town about 35 miles north of San Francisco. I spent this past weekend there for work which is almost two years since my last visit. It was also the last time I wrote about restaurants in the area. Link to Point Reyes/Tomales Bay blog post I complained a little...

Celebrity Chef: Cat Cora

March 11, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
Whenever I travel for work, I would alway pack my tennis shoes and gym clothes, but rarely end up pulling it out of the suitcase. This time while I was in Florida, I did pull it out because I had to get my Weight Watcher activity points in. I found that our hotel the Swan...

Magic Kingdom: Snacks

March 4, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
I’m in Orlando, Florida on a business trip. My conference ended today so I purchased an after 2pm ticket to Magic Kingdom. I didn’t have lunch except for a couple of pieces of fruit so I was pretty hungry when I entered the park. There are a lot of choices of snacks to eat at...

An Accidental Find: Mike’s Pastry, Boston

February 5, 2012 by 510foodie No Comments
I just returned from a quick trip to Boston. I had some really good food, but this blog post is my story of Mike’s Pastry. Firstly, someone is a marketing genius. I’m not sure if I found them or they found me. I was on the Freedom Trail when I saw someone walk by with...
